Skype hatte zuletzt im Februar 2025 rund 36 Millionen täglich aktive Nutzer:innen. Dieser Service ist ein gutes Beispiel dafür, wie ineffektiv das mittlere Management eine gute Übernahme zerstören kann. Microsoft kaufte Skype 2011 für 8,5 Milliarden US-Dollar.
